Parchment basketball coach Larry Bailey feels that Battle Creek Pennfield coach Chuck Miknis is greatly underrated throughout the Kalamazoo Valley Association. On Friday night, Miknis' team upset Parchment, 62-51. ``Chuck Miknis is a great coach,'' Bailey said. ``I've got a lot of respect for him. Pennfield (7-6, 5-3 KVA) used speed to get to the free-throw line and then hit 22-of-29 from the stripe to seperate itself from Parchment.
``Their quickness hurt us tonight,'' Bailey said. ``They got inside on us a lot. They got 22 from the line and we got seven.'' Millard Hale led Pennfield with 18 points, while Mark Sansom, Parresse Hampton and Chris Kulikowski each had 10. ``We had to keep their guards from penetrating,'' Bailey said. ``When we did that we were successful.'' Matt Chapell scored 22 points for Parchment (10-4, 5-3).

Coach T comments: The quick and dirty is that we lost on a night when Christian was getting throttled by GA (way to go GA!) and blew a GOLDEN opportunity to get our KVA fate back into our own hands. Darn! The word "AAAAAHHHHHH" also comes to mind. But instead of thinking "woulda, coulda, shoulda" lets leave that old news behind and start thinking about the future. Definitely next Tuesday at Hackett is a MUST win so c'mon fellas and fans we need "both" of you to show up in full force at Kilgore and Westnedge and turn the Irish gym into a sea of maroon and black. To steal a phrase from Peter Pan, "Fellas, I still BELIEVE". Coach T.
