Coach T pregame comments: Hey all. Given that this is Alex's last KVA basketball game I thought it would be fun to throw at you some of the numbers he has had over his 4 years of playing KVA ball. His overall record is 22-20. Not bad figuring that as a freshman his P-town squad only managed 2 victories against 10 defeats. Over the last three years his teams have been winning at a .666 clip. Parchment finished last his first year, and then managed 3rd place in the conference as a sophomore and 2nd place last year. Guess which team he has the worst record against? Yep, KC (1-6), but a close second is Paw Paw (tonight's team) with a 1-5 record. Guess which team he has the most victories against? Nope, not Delton. He's actually 7-1 versus G.A. including a 7 game win streak. Won't GA be happy to see him graduate! He's 5-2 versus Hackett including a 5 game win streak. Against Delton he is 4-2. That only leaves Pennfield where Alex lost all 4 games he played against them as a Freshman and Sophomore, bouncing back to win all 3 games he played against them as a Junior and Senior. Guess which team has done the best job of keeping Alex in check with respect to scoring? Nope, not K.C. Paw Paw has held Alex to 7.5 ppg average. Next on the list is K.C. with a 9.9 ppg average, followed by Delton (12.2), Hackett (13.4), Pennfield (14.4), and finally G.A. (14.8). So how's that for some worthless gameday trivia?
Now about tonight's game. Win or loose we will finish 3rd in the KVA. The difference is whether or not we want to finish in 3rd all by ourself or if we want to share 3rd with 1 or 2 other teams. I say let's go out and play our rears off and shoot for sole possession of 3rd place and a winning KVA record. Alex told me that Thursday's practice was the best practice the team has had all year. All I can say is "YAAAHOOOO!!!". Sounds like the team is gellin at just the right time. So don't be a felon, you can smile cause you're gellin, and I'm sure tonight the fans will be yellin even though your Chucks will be smellin. Hey now, I saw that chest swellin. Could you pass me the mellon?
NOTE FOR SATURDAY: Players and fans. Even though the PHS Varsity Men's and Women's programs have finished for this year there you still have two more chances to come to PHS and cheer for the future of PHS basketball. Tommorrow are the last regular season games for the PHS Youth Basketball League. Games start at 8 AM and run until 1 PM. The following weekend be sure to check out the Parchment Youth Basketball All-Star teams in the 10th Annual Friendship All-Star Tournament.

Coach T postgame comments: Some games aren't worthy of post game comments. To that end I think I will follow the lead of the Kalamazoo Gazette which barely wrote 3 sentences, so here goes. We stunk. Top to bottom we stunk. Plain and simple, we stunk. Poor shooting, poor D, poor rebounding, just plain poor on both ends of the floor. Some games are better off quickly forgotten and this is definitely one of them. Fellas, enjoy your Saturday shoot around, enjoy your Sunday practice, and go into Monday's game with a clean slate and the idea that with a lot of top notch effort Monday will be OUR DAY!!
A Championís Creed...
