Here is an excerpt from a November 12, 2005 Stephen Bell article from the www.bankhoops.com website: Alex Wolf 5-11 Sr Parchment: Chris Corchiani-type bulldog point guard. A true playmaker and ball-handler who just makes his team work smoothly when he's out there you don't really appreciate what he brings until he's not on the floor. Had a sweet 3/4-court pass that hit his man right in stride for the layup. Wolf has scoring moves, a good outside shot and the strength to operate when he gets inside, and will put up the scoring numbers to get all-state notice, but is pass-first at heart.

PARCHMENT - (9/25) Knowing this was going to be his last chance to square off against Pete Bunn, Jasper Bibbs, Jimmy Strunk, and Matt Jameson, Alex brought his A game and had a great open gym, which was a pleasant surprise given the "nightmare on 8 Mile" that the A-train and I went through the day before. Also representing P-town well were MC, The General, Denver (sorry Denver but I couldn't find a good pic to post), and Perm. These 5 have me very excited about the season to come. All told we had about 6 coaches and about 30 players. Not bad given the big day most of them had yesterday (at the Aim High facility). It was nice to see David Clore back on the floor and to see Andy Mains banging with Austin (see above). Big Dan Perkins was running the floor well too. I'm going to miss all of you. Best of luck with your senior seasons!!!

DETROIT (9/24) Well, it was billed as a college basketball exposure event at Joe Dumars Fieldhouse on 8 mile and Woodward, so Alex and I got up at 5:30 AM so that we could be in the gym by 9 AM expecting to find some of Motown's best ballers. Guess what? We should have gone to Aim High. The turnout (both in terms of coaches and in terms of players) was very poor. The pre-game drills were poorly run. The games themselves (once they got through all the delays in finding officials and clock equipment) were very poor. The highlight of the trip for me was the Sports Illustrated covers collection on the walls of the Joe D facility. Oh, and Alex not getting hurt playing hack ball was another highlight. Yep, Aim High would have been the better choice.

PARCHMENT The best player in Michigan that most have never heard of? One who who averages over 25 points for his high school career, and was MVP of ... an entire continent?

Easy. 6-1 Marshall senior Dustin Miller, who is back in the U.S. after playing for Aviano in Europe as part of the Department of Defense Dependendents Schools-Europe league. But he has mastered one all-American move while overseas, the step-back jumper. Miller was the best shooter at an open gym at Parchment High School on Sunday, impressing coaches in attendance from the likes of Albion, Davenport, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, Olivet, Spring Arbor, Taylor and Wisconsin-Parkside.

Other backcourt standouts were 6-2 junior Peter Bunn from Lansing Christian, 5-11 senior Alex Wolf from Parchment, 6-1 junior Bryan VanHarn from Grand Rapids Christian, 6-2 senior Jasper Bibbs from Okemos (who is taking a visit to Wisconsin-Parkside in two weeks) and 6-1 East Kentwood senior Jimmy Strunk. Frontcourt players of note were the Bros. Skedgkell from Hastings, 6-5 junior Bryan and 6-4 freshman Adam, 6-8 Mattawan senior Wilbur Ampey, 6-6 Portage Central senior Wayne Bond, 6-8 Middleville sophomore Ian Sisson, 6-9 Lansing Christian senior Dan Perkins and 6-7 Napolon junior Justin Hritzack. Some other youngsters who played well were 6-3 Ian Graham and 6-0 Matt Robinson, both sophomores from Portage Central, and 6-1 sophomore Sean Romsek from Fowlerville.

"Another great summer on Gull Lake comes to an end."
