Game 12 versus Otsego

Game summary: In route to a 3-0 victory the Otsego parents put on a clinic in poor sportsmanship. Parents, you do realize there are young people in the stands, right? C'mon now, the job of the parents is to lead by example and to show our youth the proper way to conduct themselves as fans at a sporting event. Yelling "Ref you are an aaaaa....." is not appropriate or acceptable. Did you ever think that maybe all the ref heckling has chased all the quality refs away from the game? OK, enough of that, lets talk soccer. Way to go P-town. Channel 3 showed up expecting a goalfest at E's expense and instead they saw P-town bringing it, especially in the second half when a sweet T goal was waved off by an "off sides?" call. PLEEEASE, that ball hit the crossbar first, where do you get off sides? If you wanted to call off sides you should have called it when Otsego scored their second goal on a CLEAR off sides. Unfortunately the side ref was in horrible position and couldn't make the call. You can't call what you can't see. That was a one cheezeburger too many no call. So switch those 2 calls and you get what should have been the true final score, 1-2. Major props to the Panthers for leaving it on the field. Also major props to the Otsego keep because when P-town started pressing deep into the second half he stepped up big and had an answer for nearly every scoring chance. Also that first half crash into the goal to keep out T-dog's long strike was pretty sweet too. So two thumbs up to all the players on both teams and 2 big thumbs down to the unruly "adults" sitting in the stands putting on a no class show for all the youth in attendance. Not cool "adults". Not cool.
